The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:
R. P. Treacy replaced C.P. McNamara on Bonarc, trained by John Patrick Ryan (Race 2)(Stewards permission).238B Rentokil Initial H'cap H'dle
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P. L. Malone, that D.P. Maxwell, rider of Highstreet Roller, had presented himself to weigh out at two pounds overweight in excess of the two pounds already declared at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that there was a discrepancy between his scales at home and the scales on track. Evidence was also heard from Thomas Gibney, trainer, who stated that there was no other rider available despite his best efforts to secure one and a failure to allow the overweight would result in him having to withdraw his charge, which he did not want to do. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards under the provisions of Rule 196(vii)(b), allowed the overweight on this occasion. They were, however, satisfied that D. P. Maxwell was in breach of Rule 195(i)(c) and Rule 198 and having considered D. P. Maxwell's record in this regard the Stewards fined him €150 on this occasion.
The Stewards received a request from Gillian Ryan, Authorised representative for John Patrick Ryan, trainer of Bonarc, to substitute the nominated rider C.P. McNamara, with R. P. Treacy, due to C. P. McNamara failing to present to weigh out. Evidence was also heard from R. P. Treacy who stated that he would be weighing out at three pounds overweight. Having considered the evidence and the lack of a suitable replacement, the Stewards pursuant to the provisions of Rule 198(vii)(b), allowed the overweight on this occasion and authorised the substitution of rider in accordance with the provisions of Rule 196(iv).
The Stewards interviewed C.P. McNamara, rider, concerning his failure to present to weigh out on Bonarc, trained by John Patrick Ryan, in this race, which resulted in a substitution of rider. C. P. McNamara stated that he left in plenty of time but his journey took over double the normal journey time due to heavy traffic. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C. P. McNamara was in breach of Rule 196(i) and having considered C. P. McNamara's record in this regard and pursuant to the provisions of Rule 196(v) they fined C. P. McNamara €200 on this occasion.
The Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the third last involving Wouldn't You Agree, ridden by M.M. McDonagh, placed first and Bonarc, ridden by R. P. Treacy, unplaced, where it appeared that Wouldn't You Agree got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. M. M. McDonagh stated that he felt there was room down the inner as the horse in front of him rolled out. R. P. Treacy stated that he had the inside racing line and pulled out when M. M. McDonagh shouted at him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that R. P. Treacy was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden improperly. Having considered R. P. Treacy's record in this regard the Stewards suspended R. P. Treacy for three racedays.
J.C. Gainford, rider of Call Me Lyreen trained by Mrs Denise Foster, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not handle the track.
238C Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice H'dleThe Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Quirt Evans, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, placed third and Molly Wedger, ridden by P.T. Enright, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. P. O'Sullivan stated that he felt there was sufficient room to go through. P. T. Enright stated that he felt he had maintained a straight line and received a bump from his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that while minor interference had occurred no horse had improved its finishing position as a result so they made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
238D Owens McCarthy Loss Accessors Beg. S'chAt the request of the Stewards, D.F. O'Regan, rider of Goodbye Someday, trained by John E. Kiely, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that they went very steady early on and it turned in to a sprint and his mount was caught flat footed when they turned in. .
238E Kelly Foley O’Connor Pyne H'cap S'chaseThe Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. J. R. Banahan, that J.C. Gainford, rider of Mister Bells, R.A. Doyle, rider of Storm Flight, S. Fitzgerald, rider of Avec Espoir (GB), C.P. McNamara, rider of Celtic Dancer, J.J. Slevin, rider of Moonlight Glory, G.P. Brouder, rider of Old Town Road, S.D. Torrens, rider of Stealthy Tom and M.P. O'Connor, rider of Daring Decree had put their horses into a trot or canter with a view to taking any advantage before the race is started, resulting in a false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and riders concerned. J. C. Gainford stated that he went even though the flag was still raised. R. A. Doyle stated that he was sitting againest his mount and did not go before the flag was dropped. S. Fitzgerald stated that his mount went with the rest of them. C. P. McNamara stated that there was plenty of pace on and they went a little early. J. J. Slevin stated that they went early. G. P. Brouder stated that his mount was very keen to get going. S. D. Torrens stated that he was pulling up his mount when they went. M. P. O'Connor stated that he went a little early. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that R. A. Doyle and S. D. Torrens had made reasonable efforts to restrain their mounts. They were however satisfied that J. C. Gainford, S. Fitzgerald, C. P. McNamara, J. J. Slevin, G. P. Brouder and M. P. O'Connor were in breach of Rule 208. Having considered the records of each rider the Stewards suspended J. C. Gainford for one raceday, S. Fitzgerald for one raceday, C. P. McNamara for one raceday, J. J. Slevin for two racedays, G. P. Brouder for two racedays and M. P. O'Connor for one raceday.
The Stewards fined G. Ahern, trainer, €65 for failing to fit the declared head gear to Motcomb Street (USA), prior to entering the parade ring.

The Stewards enquired into an incident turning out of the back straight involving Up The Club, ridden by Miss R. Murphy, unplaced, One Last Tango, ridden by Mr H.C. Swan, placed second, Cafe Del Mar, ridden by Mr D. Kiely, unplaced, Joyful Kit, ridden by Mr M.K. Tobin, unplaced and Shanacoole Dasy, ridden by Mr W.T. Cronin, unplaced, where it appeared that several horses got tight for room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Miss R. Murphy stated that she received pressure from the outside and had no where to go. Mr. H. C. Swan stated that he felt he kept his racing line. Mr. D. Kiely stated that he received pressure from the outside and had to check. Mr. M. K. Tobin stated that he received pressure from the outside. Mr. W. T. Cronin stated that he received pressure and contact from the outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards, due to inconclusive video evidence could not apportion blame to any individual and they took no further action.
The Stewards reviewed the fall of Bravo Buddy, ridden by Miss M. O'Sullivan who fell rounding the final bend on the flat. Having viewed a recording of the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that Bravo Buddy sustained an injury and fell independent of any other horse and that no further action was warranted. This was subsequently confirmed by the rider.
