247A End Of Season September 6th M'dn H'dle

Sam Ewing, rider of Storm Steps, trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was reluctant to start and as a result was slowly away.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Boston Beach, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very green throughout.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend approaching the third last hurdle involving Ninth Titan, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed second, and Tounsivator (FR), ridden by P. Townend, placed first, where it appeared there was contact between the two. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. Townend stated that a gap appeared on the rail and as he quickened into it his mount slips. He further added he felt he would have had enough room but for his mount slipping. D.E. Mullins stated that the bend was riding tight and his mount took it wide and when he moved back in he was surprised there was a horse on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.

P. Townend, rider of Tounsivator (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that a gap appeared and when he went to fill it his mount slipped on the bend.

247C Tom Lynam Memorial H'cap H'dle

D. King, rider of Riyami, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room 150 yards from the line. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Irina's Path (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

247E Racing Again On 4th September H'cap S'ch

R. Deegan, rider of On The Tide, trained by Seamus Neville, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

247F Curragh To Curragh Charity Cycle Hcp Sch

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Paidi's Passion, trained by Paul W. Flynn, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Motown Maggie, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gavin Cromwell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Invictus Machin (FR), placed first, as compared with its previous run at Limerick on the 23rd of May when finishing sixth of eight runners. Gavin Cromwell reported that his charge disappointed the last day when running on faster ground and that todays more favourable ground conditions may have helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.

247G John Thomas McNamara INH Flat Race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined On Cloud Wine (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr S. Cavanagh, rider of Navy Guitar, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr S. Cavanagh was in breach of R.10.3(h) (arm above shoulder height) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr F.J. Gillen, rider of El Toro Rocco, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr F.J. Gillen was in breach of R.10.3(b)(hitting their mount when out of contention) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.

Mr S. Cavanagh, rider of Navy Guitar, trained by Adrian Murray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount whinnied after the winning post.
