The Stewards interviewed K.M. Donoghue, rider of Money Heist, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that K.M. Donoghue was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they suspended him for one raceday. Mr. Donal H. Gavin, Acting Steward, recused himself from this enquiry.
The Stewards interviewed R.P. Geoghegan, rider of Brandy Harbour (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of both Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and Regulation 10.3(f)(force). Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended R.P. Geoghegan for nine racedays and ordered that he attend R.A.C.E for one day's tuition on the correct use of the whip. Mr. Donal H. Gavin, Acting Steward, recused himself from this enquiry.
The Stewards requested a report from Gavin Cromwell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Money Heist, placed first, as compared with its previous hurdle form. The trainer reported that Money Heist had a long break which appeared to strengthen the animal and was working very well at home of late, which he felt had helped to bring about today's improved performance in what he felt was a moderate contest. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the content of the report.
302D Mongey Communications S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jon Snow (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
302E Race In Pink Raceday Beginners S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fameaftertheglory (GB), trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
At the request of the Stewards, K.M. Donoghue, rider of Fameaftertheglory (GB), trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly throughout and made a bad mistake at the third last.
At the request of the Stewards, S.W. Flanagan, rider of Yeah Man, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount raced very green throughout and jumped left at the last fence.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Iberique Du Seuil (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
302F Guinness H'cap S'chaseMr N. McParlan, rider of Deadheat (FR) trained by S. McParlan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount took a blow going to the second last.
302G Student Raceday 31 October INH Flat RaceThe Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the home straight involving Jack Venturi, ridden by Mr J.L. Gleeson, Pickanumber, ridden by Mr J.P. Murray, Spanish John, ridden by Mr S. Cavanagh, and Spitalfield, ridden by Mr B. O'Neill, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr J.L. Gleeson, stated that his mount was brought fractionally wide when things got tight on his inner. Mr J.P. Murray, stated that his mount was very green when going through a gap and caused unintentional interference. Mr. S. Cavanagh, stated that he moved left off heels, as the horse in front of him was going backwards. Mr B. O'Neill, stated that he had to check, when he got tight for room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise Mr. J.P. Murray to ride with more awareness in future.
