The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Captains Nephew, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, placed first, and Mount Frisco, ridden by D. King, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. P. O'Sullivan stated that the other horse came out to meet him as he moved in. D. King stated that he suffered interference from the back of the last to the line and he felt it cost him momentum. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Captains Nephew had caused minor interference to Mount Frisco, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action other then to advise J. P. O'Sullivan to correct his mount more promptly in the future. Mr. William Flood recused himself from this enquiry.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10.3.h(arm above shoulder height) and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards gave J. P. O'Sullivan the benefit of any doubt with regard to 10.3.i (time to respond) but they were satisfied that he was in breach of Regulation10.3.h and having considered his record in this regard(second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended J. P. O'Sullivan for four racedays.
