L.F. Roche, rider of Falcon Eight, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount broke fine but was slowly into stride.
342H Businessplus.ie H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dark Viper (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Aidan Melia, trainer of Purring Along, in relation to his charge being late into the parade ring and trotting to post resulting in a delay to the starting time of this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that his charge gets wound up and he waited in the pre parade ring as long as he could. Evidence was also heard from N. M. Crosse, rider of Purring Along, who stated that Purring Along can be very keen and he was instructed to trot to the start. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Aidan Melia was in breach of Rule 32(ii) and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards cautioned Aidan Melia on this occasion.
