The Stewards enquired into an incident after turning into the straight involving Band Width, ridden by R.P. Whelan and Theogony, ridden by K.J. Manning, where it appeared contact was made between the 2 horses. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Whelan stated that his horse was green and exaggerated his movement to the left. K.J. Manning stated that he received a bump from his inner when Band Width manoeuvered out. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards, accepting that Band Width was green in running, found R.P. Whelan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for 1 raceday.

The Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Comfort Line, ridden by W. Joyce, Ice Cold In Alex, ridden by W.J. Lee, Punk Poet, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, and Breaking Story, ridden by N.M. Crosse where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W. Joyce stated that he had to take back due to pressure from his outer. W.J. Lee stated that was behind the incident and he didn't receive any interference. D.P. McDonogh said he felt he was clear when making his manoeuvre. N.M. Crosse said it was his intention to take back but his horse was running very keen and he ended up where he didn't want to be.
