McNamara, from the markings and microchip number contained in the passport for this horse. Evidence was heard from the IHRB Veterinary Officer and David O'Riordan, Head Man at E. McNamara's training establishment. The IHRB Veterinary Officer explained that the animal presented as Janverlil was in fact Cooleygorman. David O'Riordan accepted that the wrong filly had been presented and apologised for the inconvenience caused. Having considered the report and the evidence, the Stewards, pursuant to the provisions of Rule 90(iv), ordered the withdrawal of Janverlil and referred the matter to a Senior Racing Official for further investigation. The Stewards fined E. McNamara, trainer, €130 for failing to lodge the appropriate authorisation form appointing an authorised representative to act on his behalf as required under the provisions of Rule 147(v).

At the request of the Stewards, C.M. Quirke, rider of Coffeys Forge, trained by Patrick Gerard Ryan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount shied and got pushed back at the start, ran green, was on and off the bridle, did not jump fluently but stayed on in the closing stages.
The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Can't Stop Smiling, ridden by C.G. O'Dwyer, and trained by Aidan Anthony Howard. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. In his evidence, C.G. O'Dwyer, stated that he was not familiar with this animal but was instructed to jump off mid division, creep into the race and to do his best. On reviewing the video of the race, C.G. O'Dwyer explained that his mount wore a hood as she can be hot in her temperament and the first attempt to start this race was a false start. On the second attempt to start, his mount was further back than instructed but he let her find her rhythm in an even run gallop and was not aggressive on her. He described the filly as being novicey and passed tired horses when quickening well before levelling off in the final furlong. He admitted that his ride was misjudged. Aidan Anthony Howard confirmed the riding instructions and explained why his charge had worn a hood on her only two runs. On viewing the video, he stated that he was disappointed with the ride as he had instructed the rider to ride mid division. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Can't Stop Smiling was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the trainer's explanation. The Stewards were satisfied that C.G. O'Dwyer was in breach of Rule 212A(ii) by riding in such a way that his mount cannot be seen to be the subject of a genuine attempt to obtain from the horse, timely, real and substantial efforts to achieve the best possible place. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended C.G. O'Dwyer for ten racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. Furthermore, the Stewards having considered the provisions of Rule 212C(d) and using their powers under Rule 14(iii) suspended Can't Stop Smiling for forty two racedays.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Sam Ewing stated that his mount both jumped left and hung right which left him with some ground to make up and he mistakingly exceeded the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Sam Ewing was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Sam Ewing for three racedays.

The Stewards enquired into an incident at the turning point about three furlongs from the finish involving Menindee, ridden by J.C. Gainford, and Sittingonthefence, ridden by D.E. Mullins where it appeared that Menindee may have run short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J.C. Gainford stated that his mount had missed the previous hurdle, had lost momentum and he gave her a squeeze but ran up on the heels of Sittingonthefence which had moved back onto the running rail. D.E. Mullins stated that his mount had jumped the hurdle very well and was ridden to the point of the rails in the knowledge that no challenger was on his inner. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action.

The trainer stated how he had acquired this filly but would have to investigate the circumstances to ascertain where the error had occurred.
