Ballinrobe Meeting, 30th April 2013
092A Welcome Back To The Racecourse Of The Year Maiden Hurdle & A.E. Lynch, rider of Noble Pageant, trained by John Neilan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly throughout this race.
092B Tracy’s Pharmacy Rated Hurdle & B.J. Geraghty, rider of Beau Michael (GB), trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled throughout this race and that he felt the trip may have been too sharp for the horse.
Donal Coffey, trainer of Top Madam, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge scoped badly post race.
092D Connacht Spring Show May 19th Handicap Hurdle & D.J. Condon, rider of Martin Cash, trained by Michael Cunningham, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount weakened quickly in this race.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Martin Cash at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
H. Smyth, trainer of Personal Shopper (GB), reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on Wednesday, 1st May that his charge was found to be in season post race.
092E Ladies Day June 25th Beginners Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed B.J. Cooper, rider of Bruach Na Mara, placed fourth, concerning his riding in the last 50 yards where he appeared to stop riding having passed A New Day, but was then passed in the final few strides by Naughty Molly.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had been in a battle from the final fence with A New Day and gained the upper hand but within a couple of strides from the winning post he sat up and at the same time Naughty Molly passed him to secure third place. He added that in his opinion his mount was beaten fairly for third place by another horse finishing very fast.
Having viewed a recording of the closing stages of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered but did remind B.J. Cooper that it was advisable to ride out fully to the finish in the future.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that A New Day, trained by John Patrick Ryan, was found to be distressed post race.
092F P &D Lydon Plant Hire Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed B.J. Cooper, rider of Sports Line, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that B.J. Cooper was in breach of R10 (3)(g) in that he used his whip with his arm above shoulder height.
Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for one race day (15th May).
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Knocklong, trained by C. Roche, at the request of the Stewards and reported that the animal lost a shoe during the running of this race and as a result was found to be lame post race.
B.J. Cooper, rider of Sports Line, trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Stewards' that his mount hung badly right throughout this race.
Tipperary Meeting, 1st May 2013
The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of his non-runner:-.

355A Follow Tipperary Races On Facebook Race & V. Clifford, trainer of Hurricane Twister, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge blew up in the straight in this race.

K.J. Manning, rider of Mona Brown, trained by J.S. Bolger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and ran flat in this race.
Tipperary Meeting, 2nd May 2013
The Stewards authorised the following nomination and substitution of riders at this meeting:-.

The Stewards received a report from the P.L. Malone, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.A. McCormack, rider of Ever Yours, weighed in more than 1.5.lbs overweight.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.A. McCormack was in breach of Rule 231.
Having taken his record into account, the Stewards therefore severely cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.
356C Join The Tipperary Races Supporter’s Club Handicap & L.F. Roche, rider of Theyturnedmedown, trained by J.G. Coogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled in this race.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Theyturnedmedown trained by J.G. Coogan was found to be post race normal.
356D New Look Tipperary Racecourse Handicap & T.P. O’Shea, rider of Ellikan, trained by Patrick Philip Owens, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran out of racing room in this race.
356G Point To Point Evening 16th May Maiden Hurdle & V.T. O’Brien, trainer of Ballygill Katie, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to have a burst blood vessel post race.
M.P. Walsh, rider of Curraghchase, trained by E.J. O’Grady, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was found to be lame behind post race.
Dundalk Meeting, 3rd May 2013
094A Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden & The Stewards informed Ms Sheila Lavery, trainer of Lady Ultra, that her charge would have to be re-certified before being declared to run from stalls again.
The Stewards informed K.J. Condon, trainer of Mystical Past, that his charge would have to be re-certified before being declared to run from stalls again.
The Stewards fined Paul Hickey, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Udogo (GB) in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
094B www.tainmarch.com Apprentice Handicap & The Stewards received a report from I. Hamilton, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that C.T. Keane, rider of Liberty Green, weighed in 1.6.lbs overweight.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that C.T. Keane was in breach of Rule 231.
Having taken his record into account, the Stewards therefore severely cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.
The Stewards requested a report from A. Oliver, trainer of the winner Above The Law, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s recent form.
The trainer reported that his charge benefited from a switch to five furlongs on a quick surface.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
094C www.louthholidays.com Median Auction Maiden & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Shunned (GB), trained by D.K. Weld, was found to have coughed post race.
A.P. Thornton, rider of Reckless Lad, trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount clipped a heel in running.
C.D. Hayes, rider of Coquette Noire, trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount had to check from horses running free in the early stages of this race and accidentally interfered with Reckless Lad.
094E Louth Land Of Legends And Full Of Life Maiden & C.P. Hoban, rider of Zarkiyr, trained by M. Halford, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran short of room and clipped a heel on the first bend in this race.

095A Follow Kilbeggan On Facebook Maiden Hurdle & Patrick Downey, trainer of Mind The Pin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge was found to have a burst blood vessel following an endoscopic examination post race.
095D Greville Arms Hotel Handicap Hurdle & Patrick Downey, trainer of Dream Crusher, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge scoped badly post race.
095F Sean Hughes Memorial Mullingar Park Hotel Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards requested a report from Patrick Hughes, trainer of the winner Prince Of Forwards (GB), regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s recent form.
Mr Hughes reported that his animal is not very genuine but today’s track was possibly to his liking and the riding tactics of being ridden quietly just off the pace may have contributed to this success.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted its content.
Limerick Meeting, 4th May 2013
The Stewards authorised the following nomination and substitution of riders at this meeting:-.

A.E. Lynch rode Easy Vic (reserve) , trained by A.J. Martin (Race 4).
Andrew J. McNamara replaced E.F. Power on West Of The Edge, trained by James Daniel Dullea (Race 5) Injury.
Mr J.J. King rode Follow The Pals (reserve), trained by John Joseph Hanlon (Race 7).
096A www.limerickraces.ie Maiden Hurdle & B.J. Cooper, rider of Roman General, trained by Liam P. Cusack, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount gurgled after the third last hurdle but picked up again in the straight.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Roman General at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
096B GAA Supporters Day 19th May Handicap Hurdle & Mr R.M.P. McNally, rider of See Double You, trained by J. Woods, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled, made mistakes at a number of hurdles and was therefore pulled up.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined See Double You at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.
096D Kelloggs Cul Camps Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards enquired into possible interference from the last hurdle involving the winner Easy Vic, ridden by A.E. Lynch, and The Blarney Rose, ridden by Mr B. Crowley, placed second.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the interference by Easy Vic improved its placing in relation to The Blarney Rose with which it interfered.
The Stewards therefore reversed the Judge’s placings of the first and second placed horses. The result should now read First: The Blarney Rose, Second: Easy Vic.
The Stewards furthermore found A.E. Lynch to be in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly.
Having taken his record in this regard into account, they therefore suspended him for six race days (19th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 27th May).
096F Nathan Carter Live 25th July Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the last fence involving the winner Living Next Door, ridden by R.Walsh, and Muzak, ridden by D.J. Condon, placed second.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
A.P. Heskin, rider of Yeoman (FR), trained by D.J. Ryan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount choked in running and was therefore pulled up.
096G Riverfest I.N.H. Flat Race & John W. Nicholson, trainer of Tessoneill, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge showed signs of being in season post race.
Limerick Meeting, 5th May 2013
The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of his non-runner: A. Oliver for Muntasaf (off feed) - €200.
097C Great Limerick Run Maiden & The Stewards interviewed D.A. McCormack, rider of Conan’s Rock (GB), placed second, concerning his use of the whip in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.A. McCormack was in breach of R 10 3(f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency.
Having taken his record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for one race day (19th May).
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Batu, trained by David Peter Nagle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was settled in the rear before staying on past beaten horses.
097G Follow Limerick Racecourse On Facebook Handicap & The Stewards interviewed C. O’Donoghue, rider of the winner Speed Dial (GB), concerning his use of the whip in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that C. O’Donoghue was in breach of R 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency.
Having taken his record into account, the Stewards therefore cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.
S. Foley, rider of Castle Guest, trained by M. Halford, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not act on today’s ground.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Castle Guest was found to be lame post race.
Sligo Meeting, 5th May 2013
098B Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Hurdle & D.J. Condon, rider of Torn Asunder trained by Gordon Elliot, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount cocked his jaw and ran out losing considerable ground on the bend past the stands on the first circuit in this race.
A.E. Lynch, rider of Dr Machini, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was lame post race.
098A Join the 2013 Sligo Race Supporters Club Mares Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed D.G. Hogan, rider of Norah Starr, placed second, concerning his use of the whip from the last hurdle in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that D.G. Hogan was in breach of R10 (3)(f) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency and also R10(4) in that he failed to give his mount time to respond.
Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards therefore suspended him for two race days (20th and 22nd May).
098C Guinness Handicap Hurdle & B.M. Cash, rider of Gold Spark, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount cocked his jaw and ran out on the bend past the stands.
A.E. Lynch, rider of Miranour (GB), trained by Liam Lennon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled throughout this race.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Miranour (GB) at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.
098E Kilcawley Construction Sligo Mares Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed Norman Cassidy, trainer of Asiya, concerning the conduct of this horse that refused to race when a fair start had been affected.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards advised Mr Cassidy that this matter was being referred to the Referrals Committee as the filly has already been the subject to a 60 day ban from racing from starting stalls which was incurred at Leopardstown 15th April 2013 where she refused to race.
The Stewards further interviewed Mr Cassidy concerning his own behaviour at the start of this race where he appeared to use a crop to encourage his charge to race when the flyaway tape was released. He admitted the offence but pleaded that he was unaware of R13 whereby he was not allowed to use any item to prompt unwilling horses to start. He claimed that the same actions appeared to be allowed in the U.K.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards therefore severely cautioned Mr Cassidy for his breach of R13.
098F Kilcawley Construction Sligo Handicap Hurdle & The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Shattered Dream, trained by Gordon Elliot, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.
098G Kevin Egan Irish Car Dealer Of the Year (Pro/Am) I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards fined John W. Nicholson, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Well Tuned in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
