213D Rosebank Handicap Hurdle & R.C. Colgan, rider of Turner Brown, trained by Mr. Michael O’Hare, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well for a circuit, but soon faded. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Turner Brown was found to be post race normal.
The Stewards fined Mr. Noel C. Kelly, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Banellie in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer’s written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.
213E Boy Named Sue Raceday Maiden Hurdle & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. E.J. O’Grady, trainer of the winner Definite Ridge, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horse’s previous run at Bellewstown on the 7th July where he finished 12th of 14.
The trainer reported that Definite Ridge made an early mistake at Bellewstown and things happened too quickly for him that day over a sharper trip. He felt that the step up in trip today suited the horse as did the return to maiden company and the application of blinkers for the first time.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
R.C. Colgan, rider of Special Bar, trained by Mr. Michael O’Hare, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well for a circuit then weakened quickly. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Special Bar was found to be post race normal.
