Michael Darcy Appeal - Naas, 11th February, 2007.
The Appeals Body, Division One, Mr. Justice Ronan Keane (in the Chair), Mr. P.N. Reynolds and Mrs. T.K. Cooper, met at the Stand House Hotel, The Curragh, Co. Kildare, on Thursday, 22nd March, 2007, to consider an appeal from Professional Jockey, Michael Darcy, against the decision of the Acting Stewards at Naas on 11th February, 2007, when following the running of the Carvery Restaurant at Naas Maiden Hurdle, the rider was suspended for seven days for making insufficient effort. Evidence was heard from Lorcan Wyer, Turf Club Official, Michael Darcy, Rider, Mr. Kiernan Cotter, Trainer, and a film of the race was also viewed.
Having considered the evidence the Appeals Body dismissed the Appeal and confirmed the suspension dates as follows:-
24th March, 25th March, 29th March, 1st April, 3rd April, 4th April and 5th April.
