G. T. Lynch Referral

G. T. Lynch Referral
Down Royal, 26th December, 2006.

The Referrals Committee, Dr. Gordon A. Holmes (in the Chair), Mr. P.J.A. O’Connor and Mrs. J.O. Onions, met at the Stand House Hotel, The Curragh, Co. Kildare, on Tuesday, 23rd January, 2007, to consider a referral from Sean Barry, Registrar, I.N.H.S. Committee, concerning the fact that “Moonshaft (USA)”, trained by Mr. Lynch, was a non runner at Down Royal on 26th December, 2006, and despite the fact that a two day suspension was imposed, the horse ran at Limerick on 27th December, 2006.  The Committee heard evidence from Sean Barry.

Having considered the evidence the Referrals Committee found Mr. Lynch to be in breach of Rule 194 (v) (j) and fined him €500.  They further instructed that Mr. Lynch pay €200 towards the costs incurred by the Turf Club in hearing the case.

The case was presented to the Committee by Mr. Brian Price, Wilkinson and Price Solicitors, Naas, Co. Kildare.
