C. O’Donoghue – Tramore 3rd June 2006
The Appeals Body, Mr. J.R. Craigie (in the Chair), Mr. Charles Cunningham and Ms. Mary Cosgrave met at Leopardstown Racecourse, Foxrock, Dublin 18 on Wednesday, 14th June to consider an appeal by C. O’Donoghue, rider against the decision of the Acting Stewards at Tramore on 3rd June when following the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden, the Acting Stewards found that C. O’Donoghue had breached Rule 212 (i) in respect of his ride on Bearna Bhui. As a result he was suspended for four race days and ordered to forfeit his riding fee.
Evidence was heard from Mr. M.F. O’Donoghue, Stewards Secretary, Ms. Joan Taylor, Turf Club Veterinary Officer on duty at Tramore, Ms. E. Doyle, Trainer Bearna Bhui, C. O’Donoghue and F.M. Berry, Rider Siniscola. Videos of the race were also viewed.
Having considered the evidence the Appeals Body dismissed the appeal and suspended C. O’Donoghue for four race days – June 17th, 18th, 19th and 21st.
