The Appeals Body, Mr. J.R. Craigie (in the Chair), Mr. P.N. Reynolds and Mrs. T.K. Cooper, met at the Stand House Hotel, The Curragh, Co. Kildare, on Wednesday, 28th June, 2006, to consider appeals lodged by trainers Mr. Philip Fenton, Mr. E.J. O’Grady, Mr. S. O’Brien and Mr. Michael Hourigan against the decision of the Acting Stewards at Listowel on Monday, 5th June, 2006, to impose fines as a result of the trainers withdrawing horses due to ground conditions.
Evidence was heard from Mr. E.J. O’Grady and Mr. Michael Hourigan, trainers, and Mr. P.R. McGouran, Clerk of the Course. Having considered the evidence the Committee allowed the Appeals.
The case was presented to the Committee by Mr. Brian Price of Wilkinson & Price Solicitors, Naas.
