S.R.B. Crawford - Random Stable Inspection

S.R.B. Crawford (Trainer)
Random Stable Inspection – 19th December 2012

The Referrals Committee, Judge Tony Hunt (in the Chair), N.P. Lambert and Mrs. T.K. Cooper met at the Turf Club, The Curragh, Co. Kildare on Monday, 28th January 2013 to consider a report from Paul Murtagh and Carol Murphy, Turf Club Officials, following a visit to the yard of trainer S.R.B. Crawford on 19th December 2012 which revealed that five of the 23 horses returned in training were not at his premises on the day of the inspection.  The matter had been referred to the Referrals Committee for further investigation by Denis Egan, Chief Executive of the Turf Club.

Evidence was heard from S.R.B. Crawford, who accepted that he was in breach of the rule.  He said that he does his own secretarial work and that he had omitted to inform Horse Racing Ireland that the horses concerned had left his care.

Having considered the evidence, the Committee imposed a fine of €800 in respect of the omissions.  They also ordered that he make a contribution of €200 towards the Turf Club’s costs.

The case was presented by Denis Egan, Chief Executive of the Turf Club.
