The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Thomas Cleary, trainer of Great Attitude (GER) (Off feed) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

A. P. Kelly replaced P.T. Smithers on Meetingofthewaters, trained by W.P. Mullins (Race 6)(Injured)

045B Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after jumping the first hurdle involving Harbour Highway, ridden by Conor Clarke, placed third, and Solsbury Hill, ridden by C.G. O'Dwyer, placed first, where it appeared Solsbury Hill ran short of room and hit the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Conor Clarke stated that his mount jumped right and as he came back to the rails he did not realise the horse on his inner was there and he took his racing line. C. G. O'Dwyer stated that he ran short of room and hit the rail as the field moved across to the rails. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Conor Clarke, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended Conor Clarke for four race days.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fortune The Brave, trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J. Coen, rider of Glyde Ranger, trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount refused at the first down the back.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Harbour Highway, ridden by Conor Clarke, and trained by Emmet Mullins. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Conor Clarke stated that his instructions were to jump off mid division and ride his mount to hit the line well. Emmet Mullins confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He added that he instructed the rider not to use the whip today unless it was the difference between winning and losing, as his charge has been disappointing and he is trying to restore his confidence. Furthermore he stated that the tongue tie was left off today on the recommendation of the owner's equine physio. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Harbour Highway was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given and took no further action.

045D1 Cancer Fund For Children H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to the last involving Down Around, ridden by T. Power Roche, placed fifth, and Serienmond (GER), ridden by K.M. Donoghue, placed first, where it appeared Down Around forced Serienmond into the infield. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. T. Power Roche stated that his mount rolled around in the blinkers and over reacted when he corrected him. K. M. Donoghue stated that the gap opened and he was in it when he received contact from his outer. He added that as soon as he shouted Mr. Power Roche straightened his mount. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Down Around, ridden by T. Power Roche, placed fifth, and Gamigin, ridden by J.S. McGarvey, placed fourth, where it appeared Down Around momentarily ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. T. Power Roche stated that his race was run and he suffered no interference. J. S. McGarvey stated that his mount fell in to the rail as he passed the horse on his inner but he was aware he was there and felt he was clear at the time. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

045D2 Cancer Fund For Children H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Darcy's Friend, trained by Emmet Mullins, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he has the horse since September and it has always shown ability and he felt it was well ahead of its mark and he fancied it today. He added that he was keen to get the horse based on the form of its point to point run which has now worked out very well. Evidence was also heard from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory board handicapper Mr. S. Quinn, who stated that today's performance represented a significant improvement in form. Having considered the matter the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given and took no further action.

045E QuinnBet H'cap S'chase

P. Townend, rider of Adamantly Chosen, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

S.W. Flanagan, rider of Law Ella, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Tyre Kicker (FR), trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room at the last.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to the last involving James Du Berlais (FR), ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed fifth, Monbeg Park, ridden by T. Power Roche, placed first, and Tyre Kicker (FR), ridden by C. Stone-Walsh, placed second, where it appeared Tyre Kicker ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. J. Slevin stated that his race was run and he suffered no interference. T. Power Roche stated that his mount had a look at the stands but felt he was clear inside the wings. C. Stone Walsh stated that he was coming with what he felt was a winning run when the horse on his outside kept coming across him despite his shouts and he nearly came down as a consequence and lost all momentum. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found T. Power Roche, was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended T. Power Roche for four racedays.

B. Hayes, rider of Ha D'or (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was pulled up injured.

045F Dublin National H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Marronstown, trained by D.M. Christie, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

B.W. Harvey, rider of Marronstown, trained by D.M. Christie, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran too keen.

G.B. Noonan, rider of Made In The Woods, trained by Norman Lee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly right.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Toofareastiswest, at the request of trainer A.M.O'Grady, and reported the animal to be lame post race.

045G QuinnBet (Pro-Am) INH Flat Race

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P. l. Malone, that Mr R. W. Barron, rider of Quinta Brigada, had presented to weigh out at 2lbs overweight none of which had been declared at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case and apologised. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed Mr. R. W. Barron to ride Quinta Brigada on this occasion but were satisfied that he was in breach of Rule 198 (vii) (a) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards fined Mr. R. W. Barron €150 on this occasion.
