The Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter,Mr. J.R. Banahan, that L.A. McKenna, rider of Eternal Prince (GB) had failed to obey his instructions at the start. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Mr J.R. Banahan stated that he had informed all riders to walk towards him and he raised his flag to indicate to riders to maintain the walk in a controlled manner but L.A. McKenna, riding Eternal Prince (GB), got out of control and this resulted in a false start being called. L.A. McKenna stated that he was riding a tricky horse who was wearing cheek pieces for the first time. He felt that he could not let him stop but it was not his intention to break fast at the start. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that L.A. McKenna was in breach of Rule 208 by failing to comply with the starters instructions. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended L.A. McKenna for one raceday.
267B Franco Hughes Bookmaker H'cap H'dleR. Deegan, rider of Knock On Steel trained by Brian Jordan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped very quickly and made a respiratory noise.
267C Northern Ireland On Course H'cap H'dleThe Stewards interviewed B.P. Kennedy, rider of Larkhill Lady, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. B.P. Kennedy stated that his mount was stopping under him and in encouraging her to keep going he had lost count of his use through inexperience. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that B.P. Kennedy was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended B.P. Kennedy for one raceday.
267E Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners S'chM. Hamill, rider of Secret Cargo trained by Philip Fenton, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped right back after the last fence.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Shiroccoville, trained by Emmet Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.
267F Northern Ireland On Course H'cap S'chaseJ.G. Gilligan, rider of Dakota Beat trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled, did not handle the ground and was pulled up.
J.C. Gainford, rider of Doldido trained by Michael Winters, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was never happy on the ground.
