Curragh Racecourse gets green light from Bord Pleanala
Bord Pleanala has approved the realignment of the road and the construction of the new 72 bedroom hotel as part of the Curragh Racecourse redevelopment. The approval will allow the Turf Club lodge plans for the Grandstand part of which will be on the existing road.
Tenders for the road have already been released and it is hoped that work on the construction of the road realignment will commence immanently.
Commenting on Bord Pleanala’s approval Turf Club Senior Steward, Pierce Molony said “this is wonderful news for Irish racing and confirms that the proposed Curragh Development is no longer an if but a when. Our intention is to try and obtain planning for the new grandstand while the road realignment is being constructed with a view to commencing the construction of the grandstand and hotel when this years Curragh racing season concludes.”
