384A Keith Lynch Memorial M'dn H'dle
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of New Barn Lane, ridden by G.B. Noonan, and trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. G.B. Noonan, stated that his instructions were to drop New Barn Lane out to get him settled and then ride a race on him thereafter. He further added that he was reasonably happy with how the race went but would have preferred if he had settled better adding that after making a mistake at the 2nd last his chance was finished from there on. Eoin Christopher McCarthy, gave a breakdown of the horse stating that he is very buzzy and can be very keen. He also stated that he ran very keen on his only previous start and didn't eat up for a number of days after so he was adamant that the importance of today was to get him to settle and take it from there. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that New Barn Lane was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations offered by both the rider and trainer however they reminded G.B. Noonan to be more aware of his obligations under the provisions of Rule 212.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Parnell One trained by Paul John Gilligan was found to have mucus on its lungs following a post race scope.
384B CUBE M'dn H'dleS. Fitzgerald, rider of Youralwaysdreamin trained by Patrick T. Foley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung violently left.
The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. P. Graffin, that some riders had disobeyed his instructions at the start of this race. The Raceday Stewards subsequently interviewed Miss M. O'Sullivan, rider of Corbetts Cross, K. Callaghan, rider of Haxo (FR), S. Fitzgerald, rider of Youralwaysdreamin, T. Joseph Kelly, rider of Blue Motion (GB), G.B. Noonan, rider of Clounts Pride, Mr T. O'Connor, rider of Freddie's Frontier and G. Brouder, rider of Kadys Dirha in relation to the start of this race. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, which included a recording of Mr. P. Graffins instructions at the start of this race, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that K. Callaghan was not in breach of Rule 208 but were satisfied that Miss. M. O'Sullivan, S. Fitzgerald, T. Joseph Kelly, G.B. Noonan, Mr. T. O'Connor and G. Brouder were in breach of Rule 208. Having considered their records, they Raceday Stewards suspended Miss. M. O'Sullivan, S. Fitzgerald, T. Joseph Kelly, and Mr. T. O'Connor for 1 raceday. Furthermore, having considered their records, they suspended G.B. Noonan for 3 racedays and G. Brouder for 2 racedays.
384C McMahons Irish EBF Dawn Run (M) Nov S'chThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Broomfield Hall, trained by J.P.Dempsey, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have given a few coughs but to be otherwise post race normal .
384D D Pack Packaging H'cap H'dleJ.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Plain Or Battered trained by N Dooly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
384E Tim Duggan Memorial H'cap S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards interviewed C.M. Quirke, rider of Krabat, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip Regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that C.M. Quirke was in breach of R10.3(g) and having considered his record they cautioned him on this occasion.
Derek McGrath, rider of Spyglass Hill trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never jumped or travelled.
G.B. Noonan, rider of Dont Go Yet trained by Edward Cawley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly and pulled up.
384F Harrison O'Dowd Solicitors H'cap H'dleP. Byrnes, rider of Suain Na Draoicht trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up lame.
G.B. Noonan, rider of Getaway Abbey trained by Shane Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and pulled up.
D.F. O'Regan, rider of Exciting Oscar trained by Denis Ahern, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up lame.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed P. Byrnes, rider of Suain Na Draoicht, trained by C.Byrnes, regarding his riding of Suain Na Draoicht who pulled up lame and his failure to dismount immediately. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he did not realise at first that his mount was lame as he thought he was stumbling on the used ground but he dismounted once he realised it. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation of P. Byrnes.
