Rachael Blackmore, rider of True Faith trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that she used her whip for corrective purposes after the final fence.

The Stewards interviewed D.E. Mullins, rider of Captain Kangaroo, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, D.E. Mullins stated that his first attempt did not connect as his mount landed steep and he got unbalanced at the same time. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards accepted the explanation offered and took no action.
