D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Emotivo, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered after the last hurdle.
254B Hovis (Premier Bakeries) (M) M'dn H'dleB.P. Kennedy, rider of Cullagh West, trained by Seamus Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran out at the third last hurdle.
P. Townend, rider of Stellar Queen (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled hard throughout this race.
254D Linden Foods M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards received a request from John Patrick Ryan, trainer of Mount Frisco, to substitute the nominated rider L. Quinlan with D.E. Mullins due to a family bereavement. Evidence was heard from John Patrick Ryan who stated that this is a difficult ride who wears a red hood and he would have used P.K. Donovan, who has previously ridden the horse, but he was sore following a fall earlier on the card. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed the substitution on this occasion and took no further action.
254E Pepsico (Walkers Snacks) H'dleThe Raceday Stewards interviewed C.D. Maxwell, rider of Digby, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he had used his whip excessively and from the IHRB Senior Veterinary Officer, Dr. Lynn Hillyer, who reported Digby to be marked and provided photographic evidence. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were not satisfied that the photographic evidence provided was conclusive and therefore took no further action in relation to the veterinary report. They were, however satisfied that C.D Maxwell was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard, they cautioned him on this occasion.
254G Tayto Group Ltd (Mares) INH Flat RaceMr P. Hanlon, rider of Sadies Diamond, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very freely.
