W.J. Lee, rider of Gibbs Island (GB), trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount rolled around when he hit the front.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Auguste Lumiere, ridden by L.T. McAteer, unplaced, Surfers Paradise, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, unplaced, Nitti, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed fifth, Hazbaiya, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed sixth, and Glimmerglass, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, unplaced, where it appeared L. T. McAteer had to check his mount. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence L.T. McAteer stated that his mount was getting tired when it got a little tight for room and he took a precautionary check. D.P. McDonogh stated that he received slight pressure from his inside. C.T. Keane stated that his mount went a bit right but that he corrected him quickly and he stayed straight to the line. B.M. Coen stated that the wind was hitting them side on and that his mount was tiring and rolling around on the soft ground. N.G. McCullagh stated that there was a strong wind and that his mount was rolling around and getting tired. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards could not apportion blame to any rider and so took no further action.
Mr. M.C. Hickey recused himself from this enquiry.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Surfers Paradise, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

285D Fitzpatrick's Garage Group Nursery H'cap

J.A. Powell, rider of Promo Queen, trained by Christopher David Timmons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right from the halfway mark.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the last two furlongs involving Vestigia, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed second, and Promo Queen, ridden by J.A. Powell, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence R.C. Colgan stated that his mount received pressure from his outside and got bumped which caused him to loose momentum. J.A. Powell stated that his mount started to hang in two furlongs down but he straightened her as best he could and felt he kept her straight inside the last furlong. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Promo Queen had caused interference to Vestigia, she did not improve her finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Vestigia, trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got hampered by the winner on the run in.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Clever And Cool, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ocean Quest, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Echoes In Rain (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J. Kearney, rider of Weston (GER), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his action up the straight.

N.G. McCullagh, rider of Drop The Anchor, trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stumbled after two furlongs hitting a ridge.

J.A. Powell, rider of My Mate Mozzie, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was short of room in the last half furlong.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Magellan Strait, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Joseph Patrick O'Brien stated that his charge doesn't like being crowded in his races and a wide draw and a good start contributed to todays improvement in form. The Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Falcon Eight, ridden by J. Coen, placed second, Jesse Evans, ridden by R. Whearty, placed fourth, Magellan Strait, ridden by H.J. Horgan, placed first, and My Mate Mozzie, ridden by J.A. Powell, fifth, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence J. Coen stated that he was going for a gap when it closed. R. Whearty stated that his mount got tired in the last one hundred yards and he kept him as straight as he could. H.J. Horgan stated that his mount galloped well to the line and felt he did not cause any interference. J.A. Powell stated that it got a little tight for room and that his mount received a slight bump to his hind quarters. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that J. Coen, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for four racedays.
Mr. M.C Hickey recused himself from this enquiry.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Dawn Rising, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D.P. McDonogh was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having taken his previous record into account the Raceday Stewards suspended him for four racedays.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed H.J. Horgan, rider of Magellan Strait, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that H.J. Horgan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) (frequency) and having taken his previous record into account the Raceday Stewards suspended H.J. Horgan for four racedays.

L.F. Roche, rider of Lispendense, trained by Denis W. Cullen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
