The Stewards interviewed W.M. Lordan, rider of Buckhurst, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that W.M. Lordan was in breach of R10(3)(e) by hitting his horse other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards reminded W.M. Lordan to be more careful with his future use of the whip.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Broad Street (GB), trained by Luke Comer, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed E.J. McNamara, rider of Tiger Moth, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that E.J. McNamara was in breach of R10(3)(f) by using his whip with excessive force and R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous good record into consideration, the Stewards suspended E.J. McNamara for 2 racedays.
