The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Thrifty Of Digby, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
J. Kearney, rider of Come On The Lads, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran short of room turning in.
C.D. Hayes, rider of Gandolfo, trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very slowly away.
335C www.swordsecurity.com Nursery H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Your Call, trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Merchants Arch, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, and Source Code (FR), ridden by D. McMonagle, placed first, where it appeared Merchants Arch ran short of room and had to take back. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Source Code (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Damien Byrne, Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned, stated that the application of first time blinkers had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
J.M. Sheridan, rider of Coulstys Way, trained by Patrick Magee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
335D Corrib Food Products M'dnThe Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Modern Talking (GB), ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, Piatra Neamt, ridden by Adam Caffrey, placed fifth, and Whisper A Prayer, ridden by M.W Hassett, placed fourth, where it appeared there was contact between Whisper A Prayer and Modern Talking. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
S. Foley, rider of Modern Talking (GB), trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount over reacted to the movement of the horse on its inside.
W.J. Lee, rider of Ina Mina (GB), trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left after a furlong.
M.W Hassett, rider of Whisper A Prayer, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he lost an iron leaving the stalls.
335E Barna Recycling H'capThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn for home involving Shawaamekh (GB), ridden by D.W. O'Connor, unplaced, Madame Plaintiff, ridden by R. Whearty, unplaced, and Pink Oxalis, ridden by D. McMonagle, unplaced, where it appeared there was contact between Madame Plaintiff and Pink Oxalis. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. W. O'Connor stated that his mount moved out slightly on the bend. R. Whearty stated that he felt he kept his line and received a bump on the point of the bend. D. McMonagle stated that the gap closed and he received a bump. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
W.J. Lee, rider of Racing Royalty (GB), trained by Gillian Scott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right up the straight.
D. McMonagle, rider of Pink Oxalis, trained by Joseph G. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no run.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Rhythm King, trained by Mark Fahey, placed first, compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he had given his charge a break after some disappointing runs and he had also come down in the handicap. He further added that his charge can be a difficult individual but has always worked well at home and concluded by stating that he was not surprised by the win. Evidence was also heard from Mr. M. Bird, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Handicapper, who stated that Rhythm King had a good season last year but had beaten only one of fifty five opponents this year and todays performance represented a significant improvement in form and the horse was well backed today. Having considered the matter the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given and took no further action.
335F Galway H'capSiobhan Rutledge, rider of Narlita (GER), trained by H. Rogers, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount got tight for room at the top of the hill.
335G Benetti Menswear H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ifitwasme, trained by E. McNamara, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
