M. Hamill replaced R.M. Power on Big Fellow, trained by J.Motherway (Race 1)(Sore).
D. E. Mullins replaced R.M. Power on Thegoaheadman, trained by Mrs John Harrington (Race 7)(Sore)
E. O'Connell replaced J.C. Gainford on Axiomatic, trained by Mrs Denise Foster (Race 7)(Injured)

At the request of the Stewards, C.P. McNamara, rider of Pour Pavore, trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that the ground was on the quick side for his horse and as such was on his head for a good portion of the race so he held him together to get home. .

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fangio De Vassy (FR), trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a small wound on it's right fore cannon.

L.P. Dempsey, rider of Be One (GB) trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly.

R.P. Treacy, rider of Mitchell One trained by A.J.Kennedy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung in the straight.

M. Hamill, rider of Noble Expression (GB) trained by David Peter Dunne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a noise.

A. McCurtin, rider of Red Finch trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount weakened quickly and pulled up.

074D Fairyhouse Evening Racing Beg. S'chase

The Stewards interviewed D. Meyler, rider of Star Max (GER), concerning his use of the whip in latter stage of the race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his horse was rolling around and he used the stick to help keep him straight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that some of the strikes were for corrective purposes and therefore took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Midway To Getaway, ridden by Mr S. Staples, and trained by P.J. Rothwell. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Mr S. Staples, stated that his instructions were to jump off at the rear, get his mount around and make the best of his way home. He added that his mount jumped slowly and she was flat out from the start. P.J. Rothwell confirmed the riding instructioins and stated that the rider is inexperienced but did well to get her around as she didn't jump great on her last run. He added that the filly isn't up to this class of a race but is there to give the rider some experience. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Midway To Getaway was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given.

The Stewards fined Mrs Denise Foster, trainer, €65 for failing to fit cheek pieces to Axiomatic, prior to entering the parade ring.

The Stewards interviewed J.J. Slevin, rider of Optical Confusion, concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of the race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the rules and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found J.J. Slevin to be in breach of R10.3 (g) and suspended him for 1 raceday.
