D. J. Condon, Professional Jockey - Appeal

The Appeals Body, Justice Ronan Keane (in the Chair), Mr. B.J. Fitzsimmons and Mr. Edward Flannery, met at the Stand House Hotel, The Curragh, Co. Kildare, on Thursday, 31st August, 2006, to consider an appeal lodged by Professional Jockey, David J. Condon, against the decision of the Acting Stewards at Galway on 2nd August, 2006, when following the running of the William Hill Galway Plate he was suspended for seven days for careless riding. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, from Patrick J. Brennan, rider of “Dix Villez (FR)”, and from Mr. Lorcan Wyer, Stewards Secretary, while a film of the race was also viewed.
Having considered the evidence, the Appeals Body decided to dismiss the Appeal. The rider will therefore serve his suspension on 1st, 2nd, 8th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th September, 2006.
David J. Condon was represented by Mr. Andrew Coonan, Coonan Cawley Solicitors, Naas, Co. Kildare, and the case was presented to the Committee by Mr. Brian Price, Wilkinson and Price Solicitors, Naas, Co. Kildare.
