The Raceday Stewards interviewed J. Smith, rider of Kish Bank, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who said he had used the whip on a number of occasions after the last as he didn't know how far clear he was of the second horse. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of R10.3(c)(unnecessary use of the whip when the race is clearly won) and have considered his record (second offence), they suspended him for 4 racedays.
071B Tomcoole Farm Ltd. (Mares) M'dn H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Full Of Life (FR), trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
071D Visit Wexford Beginners S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Run For Harry, trained by Mrs Gillian Callaghan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
K.E Buckley, rider of Run For Harry, trained by Mrs Gillian Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount went wrong after the fourth last fence and pulled up.
071F Ambrex Switchgear Veterans H'cap SchaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Cayd Boy (FR), trained by Liz Doyle, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
071G Racing Again 17th May H'cap S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Kevin A Murphy, rider of Da Big Fella, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of R10.3(i)(time to respond) and having considered his record (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ernie From Nurney, trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have coughed a few times during the examination but to be otherwise post race normal.
