The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Miss J. M. Crook rode Game Beaaa (reserve) trained by Paul Power (Race 7)
S.D. Torrens replaced D. Robinson on Cruisin Susan, trained by J.A.Berry (Race 3)(unwell)
Miss S. Larkin replaced Miss S. Ahern on Bite That, trained by Patrick J.Flynn (Race 2)(injured)
Miss E.J. Sweeney replaced Melanie Horsman on Noble Expression (GB), trained by David Peter Dunne (Race 2)(Stewards Permission).
C.P. McNamara replaced M.F. Mooney on Important Message (GB), trained by David Peter Dunne (Race 6)(stood down)

163A Loch Garman (Mares) Opp. M'dn H'dle

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Lady Bodeen trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a noise and was pulled up.

163B Slaney River (Ladies) H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the request from D.P. Dunne, trainer, to substitute the declared rider Melanie Horsman with Miss E.J. Sweeney, on his charge Noble Expression. Miss E.J. Sweeney stated that there was a restriction on her licence which was lifted this morning enabling her to ride in this race. D.P. Dunne stated that he was aware of the difficulty with Miss. Sweeney's licience and had informed Melanine Horsman of the situation. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards allowed the substitution, but reminded D.P. Dunne of his obligation under Rule 196 and Regulation 3 when nominating riders in future. Subsequent to this enquiry, the Stewards interviewed Mr Dunne concerning his evidence presented at the initial enquiry. Having considered the evidence forwarded by D.P. Dunne at this hearing, the Stewards referred the matter to a Senior Racing Official of the IHRB for further investigation.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Trevena (GB), trained by Peter John Flood, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.

Miss G. Benson, rider of Trevena (GB) trained by Peter John Flood, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount never travelled and was pulled up.

163C BoyleSports Novice H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Imperial Ruler, trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Faron, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Imperial Ruler trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

163F Wexford Ladies Day August 5th H'cap S'ch

The Stewards interviewed P.K. Donovan, rider of Turndownthevolume, concerning his use of the whip in in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. P.K. Donovan stated that his mount raced lazy and he just lost count, but accepted he was in breach and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that P.K. Donovan was in breach of R 10.3 (g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for 2 racedays.

P.K. Donovan, rider of Turndownthevolume trained by Roy W. Tector, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount finished lame.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Presenting Cody, trained by Mark Michael McNiff, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be stiff post race.

163G Country Fest (Pro-Am) INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Mr J. Reddington, rider of Second Subaltern (USA), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr J. Reddington admitted that he had breached the whip guidelines in two categories and added that he had lost count in a tight finish. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr J. Reddington was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and R10(3)(i) by failing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr J. Reddington for two racedays.

The Stewards interviewed Miss P. Elvin, rider of Phils Choice, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In her evidence, Miss P. Elvin admitted that she had breached the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Miss P. Elvin was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using her whip with excessive frequency. Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Miss P. Elvin for four racedays.
