229B Junction Gastro Bar & Guesthouse H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference 150 yards from the winning post involving I'm Spartacus, ridden by Adam Caffrey, placed third, and Realtin Fantasy, ridden by M.W Hassett, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Adam Caffrey stated that he had to take a check in the closing stages and felt this had cost him a better finishing position. He also confirmed that contact was not made between both horses. M.W Hassett stated that his mount drifted left despite his best efforts and although it caused minor interference, no contact was made and he felt he would have finished second more comfortably but for going slightly left. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Realtin Fantasy had caused interference to I'm Spartacus it had not improved his finishing position as a result of this interference, so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that M.W Hassett had taken reasonable steps to avoid causing interference and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Florence Thompson, trained by J.G. Murray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount lost her action early on.

M.W Hassett, rider of Realtin Fantasy, trained by W.P.Browne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around with the cheek pieces.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Zippy Rocket (GER), trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.

C. Horgan, rider of Poppadom, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room one furlong out. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the incident and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Share The Treasure, trained by T.Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Exceeding, ridden by P.A. Harnett, unplaced, and Basilah Bear, ridden by L.T. McAteer, unplaced, where it appeared Exceeding struck the rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. A Harnett stated that he was riding his mount for luck, took a chance down the rail and his mount was less than genuine. He further stated that the rail was not straight and this coupled with the horses on the outside moving inwards had contributed to him running short of room. L.T McAteer stated that he kept a straight line and was surprised that Exceeding tried to fill a gap that he was never in. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found P.A. Harnett, in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) in that he had contributed to his mount striking the rail. Having considered his record in this regard (first offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Bucaneer's Spirit, trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged left under pressure.

229G GAIN The Advantage Series (Ladies) H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to the first bend involving God Knows, ridden by Sorcha Woods, unplaced, Evening's Empire, ridden by Alexandra Egan, unplaced, and Susie Wosie, ridden by Neve Bennett, unplaced, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Sorcha Woods stated that she suffered interference from her outside causing her mount to strike the rail. Alexandra Egan stated that her mount hung left and caused interference. Neve Bennett stated that she was unaware of the incident and had not contributed to it. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Alexandra Egan, in breach of Rule 214 in that she had ridden carelessly, and having considered her record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended her for two racedays.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Avondale, ridden by Miss A.B. O'Connor, unplaced, and Halcyon Spirit (GB), ridden by A.S. Murphy, unplaced, where it appeared Avondale got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Miss A.B. O'Connor stated that she was riding inside A.S. Murphy, felt a bump and subsequently had to check. A.S Murphy stated that her mount was hanging inwards and followed the horse in front of her. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found A.S. Murphy in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) and having considered her record in this regard (first offence), they suspended her for two racedays.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed A.S. Murphy, rider of Halcyon Spirit (GB), concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that she had used her whip with her arm above shoulder height and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that A.S. Murphy was in breach of Regulation 10.3(h) (arm above shoulder height), and having considered her record in this regard (second offence), they suspended her for four racedays.

Amy Jo Hayes, rider of Molly Hall, trained by Alan McIntyre, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount got tight for room going around the first bend.

Sorcha Woods, rider of God Knows, trained by Richard Brabazon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount got tight for room going around the first bend.
