The Raceday Stewards enquired from C. Stone-Walsh, rider of One Cool Poet, regarding his fall on the flat as he left the back straight. The rider reported that his mount took a false step and came down. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
K.C. Sexton, rider of Golden Sandbanks (GB), trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise.
E. Walsh, rider of Halla Paroiste, trained by Cian Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered on the turn in by the faller.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Morepowertoya (FR), trained by Paul Power, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a left hind shoe but was otherwise post race normal.
Mr J.L. Gleeson, rider of Liberated Light, trained by John E. & Thomas Kiely, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't jump fluently.
179C Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes H'dleP. Townend, rider of Daddy Long Legs (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount missed the third last and stopped quickly.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed the start of this race where D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Surprise Package (GB) was unseated. The rider reported that he was unfortunately unseated at the start through no fault of anyone. Mr. P. Moloney reported that he was in communication with the riders as they approached the tape and they were all happy to come forward. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Daddy Long Legs (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
179D O'Driscoll's Irish Whiskey M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on leaving the back straight involving Mr McWhinny, ridden by D.J. Gilligan, where it appeared he stumbled. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the false start involving Meet My Loreley, ridden by M.J.M. O'Sullivan, Coffeys Forge, ridden by P. Byrnes, Dorans Law, ridden by D.J. O'Keeffe, Secrecies Of Stone, ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, and Eabha Rose, ridden by C. Stone-Walsh where it appeared these riders came forward too quickly prior to the start. Evidence was heard from the starter and riders concerned. The Starter stated that he can see the Meet My Loreley is being difficult on the outer, as they come forward a rider at the back was shouting "no" and was not happy so he could not let them go. M.J.M. O'Sullivan stated that his mare has been rearing up, he was turned sideways, he eventually got her relaxed and had the impression it would be a false start when the flag went up. P. Byrnes stated that his mount was relaxed walking round the bend, he was restraining him when he became very head strong. D.J. O'Keeffe stated that it was very messy at the start, he was sitting back in the saddle when a few of them got excited. He knew they were coming too fast as they were very close to the tape. S.F. O'Keeffe stated that he got the impression it would be a false start, they were very close to the tape and they eventually go through it. C. Stone-Walsh stated that his mare was reluctant to walk forward and he had to remind her to go forward, he thought the race was going to start and got too close to the tape. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanations of M.J.M. O'Sullivan, P. Byrnes, D.J. O'Keeffe and S.F. O'Keeffe but found C. Stone-Walsh in breach of Rule 208 (v)(b) by failing to comply with an instruction from the Starter and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for one race day.
179E Easyfix H'cap H'dleB.W. Harvey, rider of Drumbear (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and pulled up.
179F Cappawhite CE H'cap H'dleE.M. O'Sullivan, rider of Appian Way (FR), trained by Robert Widger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never jumped fluently.
179G Tipperary (Fillies) INH Flat RaceThe Raceday Stewards received a request from Richard John O'Brien, trainer of Quite Spicy, to substitute the nominated rider Mr. R.W. Barron (5), with Mr T. Hamilton, due to the declared rider standing himself down owing to illness. The trainer accepted that the nominated rider was not a claimer but in the circumstances he was unable to secure the services of any other suitable rider for his charge. Having considered the request, the Raceday Stewards allowed the request on this occasion in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 3 as they were satisfied that the request was a valid one.
