047A Leugh Beginners S'chase
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Ms Margaret Mullins, trainer of Colonel Nelson, in relation to her charge being declared without a rider. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who said that she was unsure if racing would go ahead owing to the need for watering and while waiting for clarity she missed the deadline. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed the nomination of D.E. Mullins to ride Colonel Nelson and took no further action other than to remind the trainer of her obligations under R3 to nominate a rider before the deadline in future.
047B Racing Again March 15th Mdn Hunters S'chMr D. Doyle, rider of Magic Sadler (GB), trained by P.M.J.Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. The I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer confirmed Magic Sadler to have blood at both nostrils post race.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Welcome Back trained by Gordon Elliott had blood at both nostrils post race, possible as a result of its fall.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident turning out of the back straight where it appeared Last Round, ridden by Mr B. O'Neill, had to check momentarily. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
047C ThurlesRaces.ie M'dn H'dleP.T. Enright, rider of Love At Sea, trained by Edward F. Power, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung and jumped left.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Thefarmersdaughter trained by Patrick G.Kelly had blood at both nostrils post race.
P.K. Donovan, rider of Thefarmersdaughter, trained by Patrick G.Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Love At Sea, trained by Edward F. Power, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident after the last involving Nowwhatdoyouthink, ridden by L. Quinlan, placed first, and Joueuse Royale (FR), ridden by Rachael Blackmore, placed second, where it appeared Nowwhatdoyouthink went right momentarily. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Ray Hackett, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Nowwhatdoyouthink, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge had a wind operation since its last run and that coupled with the drop back in trip and better ground is what he attributes the apparent improvement in form to. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its contents.
047D Killinan H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards reviewed the fall of involving Turbo, ridden by K.C. Sexton, between the second last and last hurdles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
Following the running of this race the I.H.R.B. Clerk of the Course changed the going to good, good to yielding in places.
047G Ballagh INH Flat RaceHaving consulted with the IHRB Clerk of the Course and the IHRB Veterinary Officer the Raceday Stewards granted permission for Thequeenof Spikle, trained by James Joseph Mangan, to run without hind shoes in this race.
