The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Miss. H. Mooney replaced Miss M.M. McElligott on Lucia's Bob, trained by John J. Walsh (Race 6)(Stewards permission).

034C Thurles Racecourse Hunters S'chase

The Directors of the Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board approved a change to the conditions of Race 3 at 14:55 in Thurles under Rules 47 and 62 of the Rules of Racing due to a typographical error in the published conditions. The date 12th February 2019 was amended to read 12th February 2020. This alteration was published by electronic means following the decision and prior to the race in accordance with Rule 47.

The Stewards interviewed Mr M. J. M. O'Sullivan, rider of Macs Legend, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Mr. M. J. M. O'Sullivan in breach of regulation 10, 3 (g) excessive frequency. Having considered Mr. M. J. M.O' Sullivan's record in this regard the stewards suspended Mr. M. J. M. O'Sullivan for 2 racedays.

Mr B. O'Neill, rider of Ucello Conti (FR) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was pulled up having stopped very quickly.

Mr S. Connor, rider of Dubai Dandy trained by Edward Creighton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

034D Markaye Michael Purcell Mem Novice H'dle

P. Townend, rider of Drury trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

034E Killinan M'dn H'dle

The Stewards received a report from Mr. P. L. Malone, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr P. Harty, rider of Echoes Of Family, weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. P. Harty was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and having considered Mr. P. Harty's record in this regard they cautioned him on this occasion.

034F Connolly's RED MILLS (L-P/A) H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a request from John J. Walsh, trainer of Lucia's Bob, to substitute the nominated rider Miss M. M. McElligott, with Miss. H. Mooney, as Miss M. M. McElligott had sent him a text to say she would not be at Thurles to take up the ride and no other reason was given. As Miss McElligott was not contactable, the Stewards referred the the matter to the registrar of the INHS committee for further investigation. The Stewards allowed the substitution of rider.

The Stewards interviewed Miss. C. Daffy, rider of Likable Chancer, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Miss. C. Daffy in breach of Regulation 10, 3 (i) time to respond. Having considered Miss. C. Duffy's record in this regard the stewards cautioned Miss. C. Daffy on this occasion.

Owing to the trajectory of the sun, the Stewards granted permission for the third last hurdle to be omitted from races four, five and six.
