206A Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

S. Foley, rider of Sword Zorro trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

206C J.F. Hanley M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident about one furlong after the start involving Departmentalize, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed second, Up With The Play, ridden by W.T. Byrne, placed sixth and Breaking News, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed third, where it appeared that Up With The Play checked off Departmentalize when that animal was tracking over to the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by G.F. Carroll riding carelessly, this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended G.F. Carroll for 1 raceday.

206D Elphin H'cap

The Stewards reviewed an incident in the straight involving Blyton (GB) ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fourth and Dedillon ridden by A.J. Slattery, placed sixth where it appeared that both horses bumped. Having considered the matter the Stewards concluded that no action was warranted

206E Fuerty H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from F.Birrane, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Vormir, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Galway on the 1st August. F. Birrane reported that his charge had gone up 1lb in the ratings which ruled him out of a 45-70 handicap at Galway. Consequently his charge ran in a better class of race at Galway over a similar trip and going to here today but was subsequently dropped 1lb for that poor run and became eligible again to compete in a 45-70 handicap which was todays band. In his opinion his charge dropped back into a lesser class of race today. He also felt that his charge had a liking for today's track having finished third here on heavy ground on the 7th July. He felt that they were contributing factors to the return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report

A.J. Slattery, rider of Army Recruit trained by Jane M. Foley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right throughout this race.

206F Eurona Brisknet M'dn

The Stewards enquired into possible interference after the turn into the straight involving Bligh, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed second, Mona's Star, ridden by S. Foley, placed first and Natchez Trace (GB), ridden by O.J. Orr, placed third, where it appeared that Bligh ran short of room when Mona's Star edged left into his path. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

206G Sean Cleary Memorial H'cap

R.P. Cleary, rider of Nightly Wailing trained by Thomas Cleary, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was tight for room rounding the first bend.
