The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident close to the line involving Your Own Story, ridden by Patrick Wadge, placed second, and The Gradual Slope, ridden by M.M. McDonagh, placed first, where it appeared there was slight contact between the two as The Gradual slope passed the runner up. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Klarc Kent (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
104C Coolmore Irish EBF (M) Champion H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that the Racecourse Veterinary Officer had reported to him that Hispanic Moon (FR) trained by Henry de Bromhead was found to be clinically abnormal post race.
104D Palmerstown House Pat Taaffe H'cap S'chP. Townend, rider of Glengouly (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Minella Crooner, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Gordon Elliott stated that a drop in class today had allowed his charge to travel better throughout the race and this had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
104E Ballymore Champion Four Year Old H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn for home involving Karl Des Tourelles (FR), ridden by B. Hayes, unplaced, Storm Heart (FR), ridden by D.E. Mullins. placed fourth, and Miss Manzor, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, unplaced, where it appeared Karl Des Tourelles momentarily ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B. Hayes stated that he was not going well enough to hold his position. D. E. Mullins stated that his mount changed legs and rolled around on the point of the bend. Rachael Blackmore stated that she maintained her line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
104F SBK Gold Trophy H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Waterford Whispers, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a front shoe in running but to be otherwise post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed B. Hayes, rider of Chapeau De Soleil, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race, where it appeared that he may have struck his mount after the line. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had his head down in a driving finish and he could not see the winning post because of the horses on his inside. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanation given by B. Hayes and took no further action.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed D. J Gilligan, rider of Beacon Edge, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D. J. Gilligan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended D. J. Gilligan for three racedays.
K. Callaghan, rider of Pink In The Park, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
104G Lawlors Of Naas (Pro-Am) INH Flat RaceThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr D. G. Lavery, rider of Will The Wise, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. D. G. Lavery was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr. D. G. Lavery for three racedays.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn for home involving Colonel Nelson, ridden by Mr T. Hamilton, unplaced, and Will The Wise, ridden by Mr D.G. Lavery, placed first, where it appeared Mr. D. G. Lavery edged out to create a gap. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. T. Hamilton stated that he received pressure from his inside but was not going well enough to hold his position. Mr. D. G. Lavery stated that the horses in front were dropping back and he was caught in a pocket. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr. D. G. Lavery, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard and using their discretion the Raceday Stewards suspended him for one raceday.
