Punchestown 3rd September 2020

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Siobhán Rutledge rode Silver The Fixer (reserve) , trained by John C. McConnell (Race 8)

230D More Than A One Horse Town H'cap

S. Foley, rider of Will Be King trained by Gerard O'Leary, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount went left under pressure.

At the request of the Handicapper, the Stewards obtained a report from Ms. Sheila Lavery, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Ultra Pride, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that she was disappointed with her charge's last run where he ran well for a long way before fading out of the race in the closing stages. She felt that perhaps a drop back in trip today may have contributed to her charge's return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

230E Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) M'dn

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Apricot Rose, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race. Samples were taken for analysis.

230F Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) H'cap

At the request of the Handicapper, the Stewards obtained a report from Pat Keating, Authorised Representative for A.P.O'Brien, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Holy Roman Empress, placed first, as compared with her most recent run. Mr Keating reported that this filly did not seem to act in the hood at Leopardstown last time out which is why it was removed for today's run and may account for her return to form. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

230G1 Irish Racing Working Together H'cap

At the request of the Stewards, M.A. Enright, rider of Rememberthetitans (GB), trained by Miss Susan A Finn, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is a quirky type who needs everything to go his way to run well.

At the request of the Stewards, C.T. Keane, rider of Day Dreamin', trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got upset in the stalls and missed the break badly. He eventually latched onto the back markers but his mount tired badly in the home straight. .

230G2 Irish Racing Working Together H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from Andrew Kinirons, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of We'll Go Again, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse was struck-into at Galway where he was treated by the course vets. He also said that his charge appreciates today's going. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
