The Raceday Stewards held the result and enquired into the start of this race where it appeared that Senado Square (GB), ridden by Amy Jo Hayes came out of the stalls riderless. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Andrew Slattery, trainer and master of Amy Jo Hayes. Evidence was also heard from the IHRB Starter Mr. J.R. Banahan. Amy Jo Hayes stated that her mount was difficult in the stalls and she was advised to step off her mount while being assisted by a stall handler. She further stated that she let a shout to the starter that she was not ready before the stalls opened. Mr. J.R. Banahan stated that one horse was withdrawn having gone down in the stalls and he asked the riders if everything was okay and did not hear any shout. He further added that Amy Jo Hayes was at the opposite side of the track to him which may have presented a difficulty in him hearing her. Evidence was also heard from Mr. Andrew Slattery who stated that his charge has a history of being a difficult individual and had to be loaded late as a result of this. Having viewed the recording of the start and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards declared Senado Square a non runner under the provisions of Rule 209(v) before announcing the winner alright. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards referred the matter to a senior racing official under the provisions of Rule 14 for consideration.

D. King, rider of Tai Sing Yeh, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was impeded at the start.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Sevensees (GB), ridden by R.M Mulligan, placed third, and Loma Larnee (GB), ridden by J. Kearney, placed second, where it appeared R.M. Mulligan got tight for room on the railing. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. Kearney stated that his mount wears cheekpieces and was having a look at the loose horse on his outside but felt he straightened his mount up immediately as he heard a shout. R.M. Mulligan stated that he got tight for room close to the line and felt slight contact. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to advise J. Kearney to react faster if in a similar situation in future.

The Raceday Stewards informed Ross O'Sullivan, trainer that Samrogue, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
