W.J. Lee, rider of Evasive Power (USA) trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room about two furlongs out but did not travel from the top of the hill.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the latter stages of this race involving Inflection Point, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed second, Parkers Hill, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, Silverkode, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed third, Kodiqueen, ridden by M.A. Gallagher, unplaced and Mogwli, ridden by Jack Cleary, placed first, where it appeared that Mogwli had drifted right towards Parkers Hill followed by an inward movement from Silverkode where Kodiqueen and Parkers Hill appeared to receive interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Jack Cleary gave his evidence in the presence of W. McCreery for whom he rode. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings. They did, however, consider that G.F. Carroll had caused interference by riding carelessly, this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended G.F. Carroll for 2 racedays

James J. Doyle, rider of Caesar's Comet trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

242F Market Square H'cap

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Cerberus (GB), ridden by S.M. Crosse, and trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer's representative concerned. Brendan Powell, Authorised representative for Joseph Patrick O'Brien, stated that the rider was instructed to take his time early on as his mount was making his racecourse reappearance since his last run at the Cheltenham March festival. He was to get the animal to settle as he can be very keen at home and make the best of his way home. He referenced a run where the animal had pulled up and stopped having hit the front in the closing stages hence a change of tactics was later implemented. He expressed his satisfaction with the ride and added that his initial challenge on the inner was impeded necessitating the rider having to switch to the outer to make a run. He described the animal as being a straight forward type to train and felt that he might return to racing under N.H Rules. S.M. Crosse, rider, confirmed the instructions and stated that he was very familiar with this animal having ridden him as a two year old. He described the animal as being very free and by riding him to instructions today allowed him to settle soon after the start. He described his ride while the video was played. He felt that having to switch outwards about two furlongs out cost him ground but the winner had stretched on and his own mount finished well but lost out on second place. Overall he was satisfied that his mount had relaxed and behaved so well today and had presented in a fit condition. In his opinion the animal was a versatile type that was suited by both codes of racing . The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Cerberus (GB) was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations but advised S.M. Crosse to be seen to make a more timely effort with his challenge in the future. Mr Joe Collins, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry .
