The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Gatehouse Boy (FR), trained by P. J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have a small wound on the inside of its left hind fetlock.
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, D. Robinson, rider of Gatehouse Boy (FR), trained by P. J. Rothwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount is a very difficult ride who jumped poorly.
069B Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares M'dn HdleM. M. McDonagh, rider of Stormie Outlook, trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped and he pulled up.
P.M. O'Brien, rider of Small Bucks, trained by P. E. Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped and he pulled up.
069C Colm White Bookmakers Rated Novice H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Positive Energy, trained by M. D. O'Callaghan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
After the running of Race four the official going was changed to good to yielding.
069D Franco Hughes Bookmakers H'cap H'dleL.A. McKenna, rider of Gilded Moon (GB), trained by Alan Fleming, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a mistake at the first two hurdles.
P.T. Enright, rider of Nicoles Getaway, trained by Sean Aherne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle the ground.
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of River Vale, trained by Michael Winters, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered by the faller at the fourth last.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed L. A. McKenna, rider of Gilded Moon, in relation to his riding on the first approach to the starter resulting in a false start. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he wanted cover but his mount went forward when she was crowded and he did all he could to prevent it. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that L. A. McKenna was in breach of Rule 208 (v)(b) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended L. A. McKenna for one raceday.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed C. Clarke, rider of Queen Of Seduction, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that C. Clarke was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended C. Clarke for two racedays.
069E Mulvaney Bookmakers H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards requested a report from Desmond McDonogh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of In For The Night, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Desmond McDonogh stated that the better ground today had helped his charge to travel and jump better and this had accounted for the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
P.T. Enright, rider of Syracus Du Houx (FR), trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount finished lame. The IHRB Veterinary Officer subsequently confirmed the animal to be lame post race.
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, L. A. McKenna, rider of Littlefoot, trained by M. A. Molloy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was having its first run back, was raw and ran on one paced.
069F Sean Graham Bookmakers H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the home bend involving Master Of The Sums (GB), ridden by Mr Alan O'Sullivan, who came down on the flat, Nettuno Italia, ridden by S. R. Markey, placed fifth, and Mellem, ridden by T. E. O'Connor, unplaced, where it appeared Master Of The Sums ran short of room and came down. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. R. Markey stated that he maintained his racing line. Mr. Alan O'Sullivan stated that the horse on his inner came out and took his line. T. E. O'Connor stated that he thought the horse on his outside had retreated quicker then it actually had but he accepted that he had taken the ground of the horse on his outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found T. E. O'Connor was in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended T. E. O'Connor for ten racedays.
