The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

S. Ewing replaced M.M. McDonagh on Balovale, trained by E. J. O'Grady (Race 1)(See enquiry)

396A Mulvaney Bookmakers M'dn H'dle

The Raceday Stewards received a request from E. J. O'Grady, trainer of Balovale, to substitute the nominated rider M.M. McDonagh, with S. Ewing, due to M. M. McDonagh experiencing transport difficulties. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed the request on this occasion. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards considered proof of transport difficulties offered by M. M. McDonagh's Agent and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Shades Of Tara (GB) trained by P.A.Fahy was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.

N.T. Prendergast, rider of Minella Buddy, trained by John J.Nallen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount took a false step turning in.

R.J. Condon, rider of Shades Of Tara (GB), trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel.

396B Daragh Fitzpatrick Bookmakers Hcap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Construct (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have pulled its right fore shoe but to be otherwise post race normal.

B.W. Harvey, rider of Construct (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not feel right and was pulled up.

396D Franco Hughes Bookmakers Novice Hcp Hdle

The Raceday Stewards received a request from C. Byrnes, trainer of Workforadime, for an additional ten minutes to present for identification by an IHRB official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(i). The Raceday Stewards approved this request, however the animal was subsequently withdrawn by the trainer owing to transport difficulties as it had failed to arrive by the new deadline.

D. Meyler, rider of Three In A Row, trained by A.L.T.Moore, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he had used his whip down the shoulder in the forehand position for corrective purposes on one occasion. Having viewed the recording of the incident in the presence of D. Meyler and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

396E Pat O'Hare Bookmakers (M) H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Robert Tyner, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Crecora Hills, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Robert Tyner stated that his charge has previously jumped poorly and that a better round of jumping today coupled with a step up in trip had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

396G McManus Bookmakers (F) INH Flat Race

The Raceday Stewards received a report from Mr. A. Ring, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr R.W. Barron, rider of Dream On Baby, weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case and apologised. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. R. W. Barron was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr. R. W. Barron for two racedays.

The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting:

The Raceday Stewards considered the withdrawals of Fortunate Lighting in Race 1 and Workforadime in Race 4 both trained by C. Byrnes, owing to transport difficulties. Having considered the matter which included photographic evidence the Raceday Stewards accepted the explanation offered and took no further action.
