The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr. John Staunton, Authorised representative, concerning the conduct of Blindman (FR) who refused to line up in this race. The Raceday Stewards advised Brian M. McMahon, trainer, through his representative that Blindman (FR) was suspended for 30 days.
The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. A. O'Keeffe, that C.P. Millar, rider of Timeless Piece, had weighed in at 1.1lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that the going was heavy and he felt the muck had stuck to his riding gear causing him to weigh in slightly over. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisifed that C. P. Millar was in breach of Rule 231 and having taken his previous record into account they cautioned him on this occasion.
380B Signsplus M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Wholelotofbusiness, ridden by J.P. Shinnick, and trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. In his evidence J.P. Shinnick, stated that it was his first time to ride Wholelotofbusiness and his instructions were to hold him up and get him settled as he can be very keen. Mrs S. McCarthy, authorised representative for the trainer, stated that Wholelotofbusiness can be very keen and confirmed the riding instructions given and expressed her satisfaction with the ride. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Wholelotofbuisiness was showing signs of mild heat stress post race. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations offered.
380C Lyons Of Limerick Jaguar Novice H'dleThe Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Answer To Kayf (GB), ridden by J.P. Shinnick, placed third, and Stellar Story, ridden by D. Meyler, placed second, where it appeared D. Meyler may have struck Answer To Kayf with his whip. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Banprionsa, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have an overeach on her left fore but to be otherwise post race normal.
Sam Ewing, rider of Search For Glory, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.
M.P. O'Connor, rider of Banprionsa, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost her action and pulled up.
380D Mr. Binman (Mares) H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ms Agartha Yeats, trained by Hugh Paul Finegan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed C. P. McNamara, rider of Millstream Lady, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that some of the strikes did not connect with his mount. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that C.P. McNamara was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having taken his previous record into account they cautioned C. P. McNamara on this occasion.
Hugh Paul Finegan, trainer of Ms Agartha Yeats, reported to the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer that his charge scoped with mucus post race.
380F BRC McMahon Reinforcements H'cap S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Meehall, trained by E. McNamara, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Michael J. McDonagh, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Chainofconsequence, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Michael J. McDonagh stated that the application of blinkers may of helped bring about today's apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
