The Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the straight involving Cigamia (USA), ridden by W.J. Lee, Contarelli Chapel, ridden by R.L. Moore, and Viareggio, ridden by T.P. Madden, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated that he tried to angle out but his filly exaggerated the move and shifted too far right. R.L. Moore stated that his filly was a bit unbalanced after coming off the bend and didn't suffer any interference. T.P. Madden stated that he had to switch out to avoid clipping the heel of the horse in front of him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to remind W.J. Lee to ride with more care in future.
