The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Rockbury Lad (GB), trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J. Coen, rider of Rock Etoile, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that from one furlong down his mount was brought across the track.

J. Kearney, rider of Great Blasket, trained by John Joseph Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned left in the final furlong.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Rock Etoile, ridden by J. Coen, placed second, and Great Blasket, ridden by J. Kearney, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence J. Coen stated that from one furlong down his mount was intimidated by Great Blasket and carried left. Mr. J. Kearney stated that his mount was a little green having only his second run in a handicap but he felt he did all he could to keep him straight which included switching his stick and he also stated that in his opinion they never made any contact. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Great Blasket had caused interference to Rock Etoile, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.
