Following a request from broadcasters, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for a three minute delay to this race
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Expelliarmus, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
P.T. Enright, rider of St Faz (FR), trained by E. J. O'Grady, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped after jumping the first hurdle.
295B Golf Memberships At Gowran Park Mdn HdleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after the first hurdle involving Baltoro, ridden by R.P. Treacy, Val Rapide, ridden by K.E Buckley, Jullou De Grissay (FR), ridden by Miss F. Leaney, and Meoulflower, ridden by Thomas Reilly where it appeared an incident may have occured resulting in the fall of Val Rapide. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. K.E. Buckley stated that a few strides after the first hurdle he ran out of racing room and clipped a heel. Thomas Reilly stated that he had to shift left off heels after jumping the first hurdle. Miss F. Leaney stated that she was unaware of any incident and did not feel she contributed to the incident. R.P. Treacy stated that he was outside of the faller and was not involved in the incident. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that as the evidence was inconclusive, they could not apportion blame to any rider and therefore took no further action.
295C Joe Bollard Memorial H'cap H'dleT.P. Harney, rider of How Decc, trained by E.Seymour, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle the ground.
M.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of Aegirine, trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled a shoe during the race.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined How Decc, trained by E.Seymour, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Aegirine trained by Eugene M. O'Sullivan had a cut to his off fore heel after removing the shoe during the race.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.I. Duggan, rider of Glenabo Bridge, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. J.I. Duggan accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found J.I. Duggan was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and considering his record in this regard they suspended him for four racedays.
295D Jack Duggan Memorial H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined A Great View, trained by Denis W. Cullen, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
295E PWC Champion S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards requested a report from W.P. Mullins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Easy Game (FR), placed first, as compared with his most recent run. Paul Townend, representing W.P. Mullins, trainer, stated that Easy Game was unsuited by the large field last time at Galway and was much more suited by todays small field. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
295G Join Gowran Racing Club Beginners S'chM.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of Brucejack, trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped.
