205E Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) RaceThe Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of So I Told You, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Brendan Powell, Authorised Representative for the trainer concerned stated that that ground at Ascot last time out was a little chewed up and she raced on the wrong side and the better ground today coupled with a small field in which she was able to dictate the pace had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
205F Borris H'capThe Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Jungle Cove, ridden by S. Foley, placed first, Indian Sioux, ridden by L.T. McAteer, placed second and Cliara, ridden by L.F. Roche, placed third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Foley stated that he drifted right when well clear. L. T. McAteer stated that the point of the rail forced him out slightly and the interference did not cost him anything. L. F. Roche stated that he got pressure from both sides and had to check but it did not cost him a place. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while Jungle Cove had caused interference to Indian Sioux and Cliara, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
S. Foley, rider of Jungle Cove trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount had a good look when he hit the front and leaned right.
L.T. McAteer, rider of Indian Sioux trained by Patrick T. Foley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got a bit tight for room inside the furlong pole.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Euroclydon, ridden by Sam Ewing, unplaced and Sideshow Bob, ridden by R.C. Colgan, unplaced, where it appeared that Sideshow Bob had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Sam Ewing stated that there was a gap and enough room for him. R. C. Colgan stated that he was going backwards and the incident did not affect him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were prepared to give Sam Ewing the benefit of the doubt on this occasion but reminded him to ride with more awareness in the future. Sam Ewing was accompanied at this enquiry by Mrs. Elaine O'Farrell.
R.C. Colgan, rider of Sideshow Bob trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was feeling the ground coming down the hill.
