At the request of the Stewards, H. Morgan, rider of Gringo D'ainay (FR), trained by John Queally, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled ok, ran green and was outpaced.
L.P. Dempsey, rider of Pyramid Hill trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount finished lame.
At the request of the Stewards, J.J. Slevin, rider of Greenhill Damsel, trained by Garrett James Power, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was flat out for much of this race. .
347B Proficient Engineering Ltd Novice H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dark Voyager, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be sound post race and to be sensitive to palpation of his back muscles.
347C PRL Kilkenny Novice H'cap HdleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined He's Ok, trained by W.J.Lanigan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.
347D Holden Plant Rentals (Mares) H'cap HdleThe Stewards interviewed L. Quinlan, rider of Kilashee, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. L.Quinlan offered no evidence. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were of the opinion that L. Quinlan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and R10(3)(i) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended L.Quinlan for six racedays and ordered him to attend R.A.C.E for one days tuition on the correct use of the whip.
B.J. Cooper, rider of So Near So Farhh (GB) trained by C.A.McBratney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled during this race.
347F Ashgrove Stables H'cap S'chaseThe Stewards requested a report from Miss Elizabeth Doyle, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Bois De Clamart (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent run at Galway on the 24th October when finishing last of eight runners beaten thirty seven lengths. The trainer reported that the application of blinkers for the first time brought about the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
347G GAIN Beginners S'chaseA.W. Short, rider of Golden Ferret trained by Paul Stafford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up as the saddle had slipped.
C.J. Orr, rider of Justbecool trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled during this race.
J.P. O'Sullivan, rider of Pepper'n Salt trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered at the first fence.
The Stewards interviewed L. Quinlan , rider of Fort William, concerning his use of the whip in the final mile of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, L. Quinlan stated that he was instructed to ride his mount very positively as he was a handy sized animal. He explained that he used the whip down the shoulder as he was not travelling to his fences but accepted that his overall use had breached the whip guidelines and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that L. Quinlan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and R10(3)(i) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended L. Quinlan for five racedays.
The Stewards interviewed M. Hamill, rider of Secret Cargo, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, M. Hamill stated that he lost his claim by riding this winner and in running he had lost count while using the whip. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that M. Hamill was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended M. Hamill for two racedays.
