The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Cyclamen, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
081C Irish Stall. Farms EBF Med Auc (C&G) MdnW.J. Lee, rider of Tourgar Raude trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount missed the break and was flat out from 5f out.
The Stewards interviewed A.J. Slattery, rider of Smooth Tom, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account suspended him for three race days.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Tourgar Raude, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
081D Irish Injured Jockeys H'capThe Stewards received a report from Mr. D. Maher, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that J.M. Sheridan, rider of Stormy Duchess (FR), presented to weigh out at 2lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had omitted to declare the possible 2lbs overweight at the declaration stage. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J.M. Sheridan was in breach of Rule 195 and having taken his record into account fined him €150. Furthermore they allowed R.P. Cleary to substitute J.M. Sheridan at the request of the trainer.
J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Eastern Wind (GB) trained by T.G.McCourt, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left in the straight.
L.F. Roche, rider of El Valle trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.
R.P. Cleary, rider of Stormy Duchess (FR), trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount injured a hind leg independently of any other runner.
081E Paulstown H'capD. McMonagle, rider of I Doubt That, trained by Kieran Purcell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slowly away.
C. Horgan, rider of Hot Bell (GB), trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was checked early in the straight.
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Plunkett (GB), ridden by W.J. Lee, Drummer (GB), ridden by W. Joyce, and Hot Bell (GB) ridden by C. Horgan where it appeared Hot Bell(GB) ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C. Horgan stated that a gap in front of him tightened and he was forced to check. W. Joyce stated that he kept largely straight. W.J. Lee stated he was clear when he came across. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while interference had occurred they could not apportion blame to any individual rider and took no further action.
081F GowranPark.ie (Fillies) M'dnThe Stewards informed Paul W. Flynn, trainer that Shebiyra, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
D. McMonagle, rider of Antilia (FR) trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away and very green.
The Stewards interviewed B.M. Coen, rider of Lyrical Poetry, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his filly was not straightforward, was getting tired on sticky ground, getting lonely in front and he used his whip to keep her up to her job. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Reg.10.3(c) in that he had used his whip unnecessarily when he had his race won and having taken his record into account cautioned him on this occasion.
J. Kearney, rider of You Do You Boo, trained by Patrick Magee, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jammed on when the gates opened and unseated him.
081G1 Racing Again May 4th M'dnAt the request of the Stewards, M.A. Enright, rider of Strikeback (FR), trained by J. Morrison, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was a touch keen early and a bit green in the straight.
