The Stewards reviewed an incident in the final furlong involving Liffey River (Fr) ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed second, Harvard ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed third and Virtual Hug ridden by W.J. Lee, placed fourth. The Stewards reviewed the video and concluded that no further action was warranted
196C MansionBet Beaten By A Head H'capA.J. Farragher, rider of Imposing Supreme trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount had to check at the bottom of the straight. Having received this report, the Stewards reviewed the video and concluded that no further action was warranted.
196D MansionBet McEnery Cup H'capThe Stewards enquired into an incident soon after the start immediately after the winning post on the first circuit involving Numen, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced, Baltic Song, ridden by S.M. Crosse, unplaced, Marchons Ensemble (GB), ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed fourth, Aesop, ridden by S. Foley, placed third and Lariat (GB), ridden by L.F. Roche, unplaced, where it appeared that Baltic Song, Marchons Ensemble (GB) and Lariat (GB) were tight for room when receiving pressure from their outside. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference caused was accidental in nature and took no further action.
196G1 Bet 10 Get 20 With MansionBet H'capThe Stewards enquired into possible interference about one furlong from the finish involving Loaded, ridden by R.P. Whelan,unplaced, Trish's Company, ridden by L.F. Roche, placed fifth, Blankiedoodie (GB), ridden by S. Foley, placed third, Jungle Jungle, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed first and Anfaass, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed sixth, where it appeared that Jungle Jungle made a manoeuvre outwards causing interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings. They did, however, consider that J.A. Heffernan had ridden carelessly, this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.A. Heffernan for 4 racedays.
R.P. Whelan, rider of Loaded trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he had to take a precautionary check close to the finish.
L.F. Roche, rider of Trish's Company trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was hit on the head when the starting stalls swung backwards on opening.
196G2 Bet 10 Get 20 With MansionBet H'capThe Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Munfallet, ridden by R. Coakley, unplaced, Scorpion Black, ridden by D.A. McCormack, placed fifth and Clueless Hill, ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed fourth. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.
The Stewards requested a report from T.G.McCourt, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Highway To Heaven, placed first, as compared with its recent form. T.G. McCourt reported that the application of cheek pieces and a strong positive ride were the contributing factors to the improved run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
