The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

E. Walsh replaced K.E Buckley on Bella Be Good, trained by Edward Cawley (Race 2)(Injured)

305A Tote Always SP Or Better M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Just Merry trained by Leonard Paul Flynn was found to have blood at both nostrils post race, possibly as a result of a fall.

J.G. Gilligan, rider of Annamaymurt, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the third last.

R.P. Geoghegan, rider of Three Tribes, trained by Barry T. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise coming up the straight.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. P. Hassett, that J.W. Kennedy, rider of The Enabler, had weighed in 1.1 lb overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case and stated that he was unable to account for the discrepancy other than to say that his mount got quite wound up and had sweat alot. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J. W. Kennedy was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended J. W. Kennedy for two racedays.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Work Place, ridden by L. Quinlan, and trained by Ray Hackett. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. L. Quinlan stated that his instructions where to jump off handy and to keep the bit high in his mounts mouth. He added that his mount has an awkward head carriage and when the first two horses quickened away from him his mount just kept on and he felt he had achieved his best placing. Ray Hackett confirmed the instructions given and added that his charge is slow and wants further. Furthermore, he stated that he was satisfied with the ride. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Work Place was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that L. Quinlan and Ray Hackett were both in breach of Rule 212(ii)(a) and having considered their records in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended L. Quinlan for seven racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee, fined Ray Hackett one thousand and five hundred euro and suspended Work Place from running for sixty racedays.

305B Galway H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Eoin G. Kelly, rider of Hurricane Honey, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Eoin G. Kelly was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency, and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended Eoin G. Kelly for four racedays.

P.T. Enright, rider of County Champs, trained by Brian M. McMahon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room after jumping the first hurdle. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

305C Ryans Cleaning H'cap H'dle

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, B. Hayes, rider of Depalma, trained by C.A.Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount missed the last and stayed on one paced.

305E Race In Pink Raceday Beginners S'chase

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from David Kenneth Budds, trainer, for an additional ten minutes to present Anyway for identification by an Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Official as required under the provisions of Rule 90 (i).

The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.W. Kennedy, rider of Will Do, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J. W. Kennedy was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency, and having considered his record in this regard (third offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended J. W. Kennedy for eight racedays.

305F Mongey Communications H'cap S'chase

The Raceday Stewards interviewed D. King, rider of Likable Chancer, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D. King was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended D. King for four racedays.

305G Student Raceday On Oct. 28 INH Flat Race

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Rural Link, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at both nostrils post race.

Mr J.L. Gleeson, rider of Live Aid, trained by Emmet Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left all the way and ran out.

Mr F. Maguire, rider of Marine Ranger, trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left throughout.

Mr P.W. Mullins, rider of Rural Link, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount staggered and went through the rails. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
