R. Whearty rode Dr Patrick (reserve) , trained by Luke Comer (Race 7)
Siobhan Rutledge rode No Trouble (reserve) , trained by John C. McConnell (Race 7).

259B Donnellys Of Barna Rated Race

The Stewards enquired into an incident about seven furlongs from the finish involving Dedillon, ridden by A.J. Slattery, unplaced, Doolin Dancer, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, unplaced and Theophile, ridden by K.J. Manning, unplaced, where it appeared that Theophile was tight for room and received an amount of contact. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence K.J. Manning stated that at a steady pace the race tightened up and he received pressure from his outside. A.J. Slattery stated that he was racing on the rail and next to Theophile when he noticed that animal getting tight for space and he gave him a chance to shift inward. J.M. Sheridan stated that he was a half length down on Jungle Cove when the runners tightened from the outside and he took back at that point. Having viewed the recording of that part of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference caused was accidental in nature and took no further action. Mr Niall Rooney, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

S.M. Crosse, rider of River Derwent (GB) trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount raced too keen early on.

259C James P. Cunningham Electrical H'cap

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Church Mountain trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left during this race.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Sod's Law (GB) trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pushed wide when turning into the straight.

259E The Galway H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from P.F.O'Donnell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Dragon Of Malta, placed first, as compared with its recent form. P.F. O'Donnell reported that he acquired this gelding as a two year old and explained that his form had peaked during the autumn period each season. He added that his charge, in his opinion, had run a good race the last day at Roscommon on the 16th August when having to be ridden towards the rear when racing from draw fourteen on the wide outside. He further explained that today his charge jumped out smart from draw two close to the inside and raced in the front rank from flag fall. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

259G Galway Apprentice H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Final Endeavour, trained by H.Rogers, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.
