At the request of the Stewards, G.B. Noonan, rider of Ella Rose, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount had a tendency to stop in her work and consequently he held onto her today and squeezed her to get her to finish out her race. He also reported that the filly jumped green in the early part of this race.
329D Glenman Corporation H'cap S'chaseThe Stewards interviewed C.P. McNamara, rider of My Friend The Wind, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, C.P. McNamara stated that he believed that he had used his whip within the guidelines for frequency but admitted that he had miscalculated his use during his riding of the finish. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that C.P. McNamara was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended C.P. McNamara for two racedays.

The Stewards intended to enquire into the running and riding of Friendly Star (FR), ridden by P.J. Carberry, and trained by A.J.Martin. Prior to evidence being heard, the Stewards became aware that A.J. Martin was not present at this meeting and his sole registered Authorised representative, Ms Cathy O'Leary, was also absent. Masaki Yamamoto presented himself as the Authorised representative but informed the Stewards that he did not have any written notification of his appointment and therefore nothing had been lodged today with the Clerk of the Scales as required under Rule 147(v). Having considered this matter, the Stewards fined A.J. Martin €130 for his failure to comply with his requirement under Rule 147(v) to lodge written notification with the Clerk of the Scales of the appointment of an Authorised representative to act on his behalf at today's meeting. Furthermore, the Stewards were not in a position to proceed with this enquiry and referred the matter to the Referrals Committee.

In his evidence, B.J. Cooper stated that Blanketontheground had jumped left at this hurdle presenting him with a gap to his right, but on trying to get in there, his mount was not quick enough and checked. D.F. O'Regan stated that his mount jumped straight and landed into the gap presented by Blanketontheground. G.B. Noonan stated that his mount jumped and landed to the left and he gave it a slap to straighten her but she got caught on her hind quarters when correcting. M.J.M O'Sullivan stated that while his mount was tiring and going backwards, he had avoided the incident.
