The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

James J. Doyle rode Sasvana (GB) (reserve), trained by Dermot Murphy (Race 4)
M. A. Gallagher rode Silverkode (reserve), trained by Joseph G. Murphy (Race 5)
J. M. Sheridan replaced P.A. Harnett on Caesar's Comet, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan (Race 4)(Stewards permission)

284B Irish EBF Median Sires Series (F) M'dn

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Watercolormemories, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame behind.

G.M. Ryan, rider of Baltinglass Abbey trained by M.C. Grassick, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Maoilin (USA) trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Mirage More, ridden by R.P. Whelan, and trained by M. Halford. Evidence was heard from the rider and authorised representative for the trainer concerned. R.P. Whelan, stated that his mount had run a very nice race first time out and then disappointed on its next start on slower ground. He stated that his instructions today were to sit mid division and build into the race, however he ended up further back in the field then desired and then had his run checked several times in the straight and he got frustrated and eased his mount. Furthermore, he admitted that he should have furnished a report to the Clerk of the Scales. Nikica Jenjic, authorised representative for M. Halford, confirmed the instructions given and stated that they felt their charge was unlucky in the straight. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Mirage More was post race normal and samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations given. Furthermore, the Stewards found R. P. Whelan in breach of Rule 213(ii), in that he had failed to report anything that might have affected the running of his mount. Having considered R. P. Whelans record in this regard the Stewards suspended R. P. Whelan for one raceday.

The Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Pulse Of Shanghai, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found D. P. McDonogh in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered D. P. McDonogh's record in this regard the Stewards suspended D. P. Mcdonogh for one raceday.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Leadership Race, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame left fore and coughing, possibly as a result of kick back. Samples were taken for analysis.

284G HOLLYWOODBETS H'cap

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Juliet Rose trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was short of room at the winning post first time round.
